ABOUT

The Centre for Housing and Sustainable Development (CHSD) formerly known as Centre for Housing Studies at the University of Lagos was established to equip policy makers, law makers, housing providers and researchers with the appropriate tools for profitable, affordable housing provision. The Centre pioneers new ways of housing provision and management, reviews current and emerging practice in the housing industry and support those who have the responsibility for proffering policies to manage the housing situation in Nigeria and Africa.

ARUA CoE URBANIZATION AND HABITABLE

AFRICAN RESEARCH NETWORK FOR URBANIZATION HABITABLE CITIES

The African Research Network for Urbanization and Habitable Cities is an ARUA-UKRI GCRF
Network hosted by the University of Lagos Centre of Excellence for Urbanization and Habitable
Cities with the aim of providing strategic platform for developing research capacities in African
Institutions to address the Sustainable Development Goals. The Network’s activities began in
October 2019 with an inception Workshop hosted by the University of Lagos
Hub-Spoke-Outreach

Vision

To be the hub for world class, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary, applied research on urbanization and habitable cities; connecting researchers for the purpose of initiating, developing, disseminating and affecting change in Africa’s cities.

Mission

To attract, through collaborative actions; active researchers and funders, across all cadres, from within and outside Africa, that would work together with stakeholders from academia, private sector, government and non-government organizations to solve the diverse problems evident in African cities.
